We don't normally post this type of before and after pic but I had to make an exception to illustrate the unbelievable transformation of Dave Finn. Here's a summary of Dave's journey in his own words:"About 18 months ago I was 125kgs, I was in a very dark place in my life. I knew I had to change, so I responded to an Ad I saw on Facebook for Fitz Fitness. John was absolutely fantastic in breaking down the program and he promised me life changing results. "I joined FitzFitness in August of 2020. 

I was stuck in a rut, doing nothing but a bit of walking and not eating correctly. My food habits were, to say the least, unhealthy. I had a BMI of 30.4 and was classed as obese. My energy levels were very low and it took a lot out of me to do anything any bit exertive. To run up the stairs was a no no as I had no energy for it. On occasion I did run up the stairs and was horrified by all the bits that wobbled! Also, my wardrobe was shrinking as nothing fitted.

I have toned all over and have muscles where there was once none. More importantly, my clothes are fitting!!!

"I joined up about a year ago, the same week that I retired. I was 19 stone 8 pounds at the time and a lot of ordinary, everyday tasks had become a bit of a sWhen a person reaches that point, it becomes very easy to succomb completely, become progressively more lethargic and eat more and more.


Fortunately, I answered the Fitz Fitness ad looking for men in Ballincollig who wanted to change their lives.

I began to attend the strength and conditioning classes (in my 4XL tee shirts) and to follow the dietary advice.

'The picture on the left was taken 2 months prior to Ken O'Donovan joining our Transformation program.  

Ken was after a rough few months personally and he knew it was time for change.  

We actually didn't get off to the perfect start. Five weeks in, Ken phoned me as he was concerned about his progress, he only lost a pound in 4 weeks. I assured him that this was normal and explained that it was crucial to remain patient and more importantly, CONSISTENT. We were focused on one thing (no snacking) and Ken thought it was all a bit too simple. 

But Boom, the following week he was down 5 pounds and 12 weeks later he was down 20 pounds. Ken then set the goal of being down 50 pounds before his 50th Birthday a few months later (despite being in lockdown) .. . .. And of course he absolutely smashed it 👊

What I'm most impressed with is that he has maintained that weightloss for well over a year. He can now run 10km in 54 mins, Deadlift over 100kg and as you can see from the pic on the right, he is in phenomenal shape 💪. 

Since joining, Ken has never missed a scheduled session be it in gym or online. The secret to his success is NOT detox diets, magic pills, crazy insane workouts.... It's doing the simple things right Consistently 💯.

For those of you who think 'that you are too out of shape for the gym', I hope this man's story encourages you to think differently. I can still remember Alan's first session. He really struggled and to be honest I was worried that he wouldn't continue. But not only did Alan show up the next day, but he showed the day after and the day after that. Alan's consistency with training and nutrition is incredible and as a result, 10 months on from his first session, he is one of the strongest and fittest members in the gym.  He has lost an astounding 27kg (60 pounds) so far and as far I'm concerned we are still in the early stages of his journey. We bring the best of Strength Training and Conditioning into a Powerful Training program that will revolutionise how you look, how you feel and you’ll see your strength sky rocket.


We love strength training at FITz FITNESS. You can set performance goals and it's easy to track your progress. A nice little consequence of getting stronger from week to week is that you will loose bodyfat and gain muscle, so long as your nutrition is in check. It's for these reasons that we preach the gospel of strength training. It takes away the obsession with the scales and instead your body shape will change, your clothes will fit better and you will drastically improve the quality of your life in the future by getting stronger now.


The program is essentially Personal Training but in a small group. Don't get me wrong personal training can motivate people to get results. But for others, their enthusiasm fizzles out. In small group training, you receive the same attention as you would in a one-to-one session. But you’re in a fun group setting, which spurs you on.


The benefits of small group training include:
